holidays in the north 8/8-12/8

the last four days i spent with my homestay family in whatuwhiwhi, which is in the north of north island on karikari peninsula. it was quite nice up there, not as rainy as it is in auckland. we went fishing but didnt catch something... we also went kayaking, that was great! one day we drove to cape reinga, the ninty mile beach and the sand dunes. it was amazing but also very windy! like everything the holidays were over very fast and now im back in auckland for the last two weeks, before i go back to switzerland...

i de letschte paar tag bini mit abplanalps i de ferie gsi in whatuwhiwhi. dasch zimli im norde uf dr karikari peninsula. dert heimer es huesli gmietet wo gad ir nechi vom strand isch. isch wuerkli sehr schoen der obe! mir si go kajakfahre u go fische oder eifach am strand gsi. u de simer natuerli nach zum cape reinga ganz im norde, dert isches sehr windig aber suesch schoen. ufem heiwaeg simer am ninty mile beach entlang gfahre u n go sand duene aluege, dasch erstunlech wie viu sand dasses dert het! jo naer si o die ferie scho wider viu zschnaeu duere gange u iz bini wider zrug in auckland u es raegnet... u i zwe wuche chumi jo de o scho wider zrug...

coromandel

my last three days of my travel i spent on coromandel peninsula... first i stayed one day in coromadel town and went biking, which was great! i havent been on a bike since im in new zealand, so it was quite strange in the beginning and also the bike wasnt the best one :). but i rode to the waterworks and to waterfalls near coromandel, well it was a great day and i was really tired after it :). the next morning roy a guy who lives in thames picked me up with his van and showed me the east coast, we were fishing and he caught two crayfishes which we ate for dinner, it was delicious :). we camped on the beach and the next day we wanted to go to the hot water beach, but it was raining so we went back to thames and visited a museum. all in all it was a great trip but i was really glad when i was back in auckland, just because its nice to be home :)

hamilton 1/8-2/8

after wellington i went to hamilton also by train. that was quite a long way up there, ten hours in this train... well it wasnt so bad and we stopped in the national park for lunch so it was alright. when we arrived in hamilton it was raining... which is normal for hamilton... i could stay with christoph by a friend, that was cool. so the next day we went to the university and he showed me the city. but the best place in hamilton are the gardens, they are really beautiful! thats everything i know about hamilton... we didnt celebrate the national day of switzerland which is on the 1. of august for those who doesnt now this :). so i missed it this year... and now i'm going to coromandel my last part of my journey and then back to auckland...

wellington, the capital of new zealand 27/7-31/7

by train and ferry from christchurch to wellington... well it wasnt too bad... the weather was nice, so we had a great view along the coast and on the ferry. i was surprised how big the ferry is, with cinema and restaurant and bar, quite nice!
in wellington i first went to the museum, te papa. its really nice and there are a lot of interessting exhibitions, so i couldnt see them all, its just too big. because there was the film festival in wellington i went watching a french movie, called loulou. well it was quite strange to listen to french and read in english, but the movie was alright. of course i was in the parliment, where i met a swiss guy with whom i traveled the last few days. the parliment is quite interessting. the next day we walked up the mt victoria to have a look on wellington from there and after we went again to te papa and visited the exhibition of "lord of the rings". this was amazing, how they made the movie and the original dresses and models of the towers or how they transformed the actors into orks. really nice! in the evening i watched rugby, all blacks vs australia, was a good game and the all blacks won :). my last day in wellington i spent with meeting people i dont know :). in the morning i met denise a friend of my boyfriend and we were in the zoo, was nice, but sometimes she spoke a little bit too fast :). well and in the afternoon i visited friend of my homestay father, who live in wellington. was really strange in the beginning but a nice afternoon! ye... thats what i did in wellington...


i bi mitem zug u mit dr ferry nach wellington... isch zimli lang gange, aber zum glueck isch schoen waetter gsi u de isch d zugfahrt no ganz schoen gsi so ar kueste entlang u o ufem schiff isches guet gsi. isch zimli es grosses schiff gsi, het mi no erstunt, sogar mit chino u bar u restaurant... ni schlecht! jo am erste tag in wellington bini am morge is museum, te papa, isch mega gross u het viu interessants wome cha aluege, ha auso lang ni aus gseh, brucht me sicher e wuche :). de bini no go e franzoesische fium luege, loulou, da gad film festival isch. isch zimli schreg gsi uf franz zlose u englisch ds laese... am nami bini de go ds parlament aluege wo usgseht wienes bienihuus... dert hani de o dr christoph troffe u mit ihm bini iz bis huet am reise gsi. ja am noechste morge simer ufe mt victoria glofe zum wellington mau no vo obe zgseh... u am namitag de nomau is museum ha no woeue go d'usstellig vo "lord of the rings" ga luege. dasch mega interessant gsi! si hei erklaert wie dr fium gmacht isch worde, hei kostuem usgsteut gha u model vo de tuerm u stedt u zeigt wie dass si d'schouspiler i orks verwandlet hei, wuerkli guet gmacht! am obe hani widermau rugby gluegt, all blacks vs australie, isch ganz guet gsi u si hei gwunne :). mi letscht tag in wellington isch chli schreg gsi... bi am morge mit dr denise i zoo, dasch e kollegin vom osi u si redt zimli schnaeu englisch, muess me guet zuelose :). u am namitag bini go kollege vom simon bsueche wo hie wohne, dasch scho chli komisch gsi da i die ni kennt ha, aber neuseelaender si jo so unkompliziert u nett, isch de ganz cool gsi. ja das waers so wasi in wellington gmacht ha :)
